Waterfalls, elephants, and bears, Oh My!

I can't think of the last time I saw a real waterfall. OK, I can , but it's been too long. Today we saw two separate waterfalls, each gorgeous and unique. We took a van today, so no more bouncing around in the back of a Tuk Tuk -- can't say I was too disappointed. At the first set of waterfalls we saw elephants. We fed them sugarcane and bananas and almost my two cameras. We watched others ride elephants through the water. We didn't ride elephants or zip line through the waterfalls because well, we aren't that rich, but we still had a great time. We rode in yet another boat to get there, making boat rides a more common experience. The kids are becoming much more confident. The other waterfalls were beautiful and while we had such glorious dreams of swimming in their bright blue water, it turned out harder and colder than expected. Oh well, we tried. We even saw several varieties of bears in a bear refuge on our way out. Tomorrow we leave Laos and head for Siem Riep to spend a few days among temples. I really like it here. It's mountainous, green, unpolluted, and not too crowded. I can breathe clean air. Luang Prabang is a charming, sleepy little town, that gets enough tourists to keep it alive but not enough to make it overdone. I would love to have a few more days just to wander and explore. I guess the real question is how many more nutella/banana crepes and massages can I get before we leave? Not enough.
