Family stopover in Qatar (look it up)

Our journey began in Doha, Qatar. We opted to stay two nights there to break up the flights, and we are glad we did. Sure, we were jet-lagged and it was insanely hot and muggy, but the InterCon was gorgeous and the city buzzing with life. It was great for the kids to see something different and still experience some sort of normal. Most notably, B turned 7 en route, and we enjoyed a day of spoiling her. We explored the glitzy City Center mall and Fun City, saw the amazing Museum of Islamic Art, wandered through the souk at dusk, and topped it off with a spicy Indian dinner. Perfect.
Maybe we'll keep doing stopovers on the way to posts. It's a bit logistical, but it really is cool to see somewhere we'd never otherwise get to. I give C full credit for talking me into it. He was right. It was great.
